Invocation Awarded 1st Place by The Light Factory
(6/5/2013) I received great news yesterday: Invocation, pictured below, was awarded first place in the 41st Members Show at the Light Factory Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film in Charlotte.
The Light Factory, one of only four photography museums in the United States, seeks to “promote the power of image, in Charlotte and beyond, by informing, challenging, and stimulating audiences through photography, film, and other light-based media to see their world through a different lens.”
The show was juried by Phil Moody, Professor of Art at Winthrop University, who announced the winners at the opening reception on June 1st. The Winner’s Circle was:
First Place: Catharine Carter (Chapel Hill, NC), Invocation
Second Place: Greg Banks (Statesville, NC), 15
Third Place: Cordelia Williams (Charlotte, NC), Self Portrait
Honorable Mention: Lori Vrba (Chapel Hill, NC), Tending the Dogs
Honorable Mention: Byron Baldwin (Charlotte, NC), Phat Burrito
Honorable Mention: Bryce Lankard (Carrboro, NC), Parachute Jump
Honorable Mention: Karen Cohen (Waxhaw, NC), Abandoned
The show will be on display through August 11, 2013.
