I had a great time last Friday at the Through Women’s Eyes, By Women’s Hands annual fundraiser hosted by Top of the Hill for the Compass Center (formerly the Women’s Center).
Women artists were asked to contribute ‘mini masterpieces’, each on a 5×7 card, for a fundraiser to support the Center’s programs. This year’s event raised more than half the private funds that are needed annually to serve the community.
The artwork is posted for purchase at $50 a piece and the artist remains anonymous until somebody buys them.
I have contributed to the event several times in the past. It is always fun to attend the party and see the mini masterpieces with various interpretations of the theme. This year’s theme was ‘Compass’ in celebration of the Center’s new name.
I donated two images this year, Guardian and Escher’s Dilemma, and both found happy homes. I send a big ‘Thank You’ to the Compass Center for the work they do in my community and for putting together such a wonderful event.
