Thank you for your generous and enthusiastic response to my holiday raffle.
I am pleased to announce that the winner of the signed, limited edition print of Parallel University is Cheryl Bock!
Cheryl was drawn to the allure of Ramses grazing in the foreground of the image and her husband thought the image was “mysterious and very spiritual,” which are often themes in my photomontage works.
In an email, she said that the print “has a special meaning beyond the lovely artwork,” since her husband and daughter are both University of North Carolina alumni, along with her son-in-law whose father is a professor emeritus at UNC.
As an alumnus, I have often walked beneath the canopy of UNC’s magnificent trees and marveled at the sense of place that they evoke in me and the history that they have witnessed.
These holiday raffles have given me the momentum to allow my imagination to weave feelings and memory into a more tangible form.
I am already engaged in the process of designing the image that will become next year’s raffle prize.
I was very pleased with the response to the raffle and I hope to see your name on the list next year.
