I appreciate your support in 2012.
Doors opened for my work in unexpected places this year. After being selected for the 2011 Silvershotz International Journal of Contemporary Photography’s Folio, the magazine published a feature on my photomontage (Vol. 8, ed. 1).
Other highlights of 2012 included an inspiring trip to Peru, participation in a juried portfolio review in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I connected with industry professionals, and an invitation to exhibit at Bill Hester’s new gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
I will be spotlighted in the April 2013 issue of Black & White magazine, coinciding with a show at Through This Lens in Durham. My photomontage works will be on display at The Framer’s Corner in Carrboro through January 7.
In the spirit of giving, I am offering you a chance to win a signed print of Parallel University (shown at left). You may enter the drawing by completing the form on the Contact page of my website and typing “Ring the Bell” in the comments section before January 31.
As a University of North Carolina alumnus and Chapel Hill native, I enjoy transforming well-known campus icons into surprising and magical inspirations.
Parallel University showcases the “real” Ramses the Ram, our mascot, the exterior of the Bell Tower and the intriguing spiral staircase leading up to the bells. This image pays homage to the towering trees and the majestic tower itself, and the impact that these icons have on our collective memory of the beauty of UNC.
I wish you joy, friendship and inspiring art in the coming year.
